Holiday time in Europe

We have recently returned from my ' lifelong cruise' overseas - Europe River Cruising 27 Apr to 11 May. I had the luxurious experience of a river cruise through five countries: between Budapest and Amsterdam, traveling along the Danube, the Main and the Rhine rivers.

However we were in Turkey for the first leg of our trip – Istanbul and Gallipoli Peninsula from 21-26 April 2012. We spent time in Turkey for the Anzac Day celebrations which was a huge highlight for Dave.

Whilst in Istanbul we saw the regular sights, mainly mosques - the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Pasha Mosque. We also enjoyed a river cruise along the Brosphorous River ( a narrow strait forming a boundary between Europe and Asia) There were public holidays on at the time so the streets were particularly crowded, if you can imagine visiting a spice bazaar - it was packed!
