Our first day of rain, in the morning it was wet so I didn't take the camera on the walking tour of Kitzingen. It's an old town of 21,000 inhabitants, it was heavily bombed during the air raids of 1945 and many of the historical buildings were destroyed. The city's main landmark is the leaning tower which was built in the 13th century, "Old Synagogue", Dracula's Grave (not really) but a heavily decorated grave of a very rich family that resided in Kitzingen.
In the afternoon the weather fined up so I went on a bus tour to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It was a very picturesque village which was completely surrounded by its city wall ... lots of charm and character. We strolled along the the upper part of the city wall to look out over the Tauber Valley - very pretty. The town also housed Germany's famous Christmas Store Kathe Wohlfahrt.
