The travelling Dick and Denise Show: visitors from Darwin

 

 

 

Recently we had the pleasure of Richard and Denise's company for a couple of days.  Dick Norris and Denise Vincent are travelling by road from Melbourne to Darwin.  Denise has been driving northwards on a slow trek after Dick had ankle surgery in Melbourne.  While Dick is rehabilitating they are visiting friends and family and ex-Stubbie members en route.

Later on in the evening after a few more drinks ...

 

It was a night of "what's happened to so and so and where are they now"?  As the drinks were consumed the stories grew and the gathering became rowdier.  Lana Oates, an ex-Darwin Stubbie, also joined us for the occasion contributing to a very enjoyable evening.  It was great company.

Patchwork Pillow

My first piece of work for 2014.  If you look closely you can see a bunch of crosses.

 

 

A basic pattern but I'm pleased to have started and finished within a couple of days.  However a close look will show some of the squares don't quite meet and some of the quilting is not so straight but I probably just need more practise.  Anyway I've dusted off the sewing machine now so hopefully this is the start of more patch working for the year.
