TOMATO time

Big Reds, cricket ball sized and a whole lot of them...of course,  ripening at the same time.


A sample of some of the fruit coming out of the garden.  Egg cup shows the large size of the fruit.
This crop of tomatoes was planted from seed.  They are an Ox Heart variety, hence the size.  The flavour of the fruit is a little light on and a trifle disappointing.  However they battled the caterpillars and beat the King Parrots.

Soup, tarts, puree, relish are all on the menu at the moment.  I'm also going to make a batch of tomato jam.
